3STEP Sports Adds HoganLax, Annapolis Hawks to Lacrosse Portfolio

WILMINGTON, Mass., Aug. 18, 2021 – 3STEP Sports, the nation’s largest youth sports club and event operator, has acquired HoganLax and the Annapolis Hawks to add to its lacrosse division.  These new clubs will expand an existing portfolio of world-class operators to create an abundance of new opportunities for youth lacrosse players.

HoganLax and Annapolis Hawks join 3STEP’s already impressive group of lacrosse properties: 3d Lacrosse, Thunder Lacrosse, Aloha Lacrosse Events, Kings Lacrosse, Aces Lacrosse, Connecticut Wolves, and Storm Lacrosse Club.

“By adding HoganLax and Hawks to our group of lacrosse partnerships, we partner with one of the best lacrosse leaders in the business,” said 3STEP Sports CEO and founder David Geaslen.  “Matt Hogan’s expertise will help 3STEP bolster the national lacrosse club and event landscape and maximize the positive impact we’re making in the sport.”

3STEP Sports has grown exponentially over the past 2-3 years and now supports more than 45 youth sport club and event operators. The 3STEP reach spans 40+ states and serves more than 2.5 million athletes across eight sports. Encompassing industry-leading tournaments, nationally spanning club programs, premier media content and more, the mission of 3STEP is to be the standard of the youth sports experience and create consistency in the industry.

“We really think by partnering with 3STEP we will take the player experience to the next level, and that’s what we’ll always strive for,” said HoganLax CEO and founder Matt Hogan. “We’re excited for this new chapter. We have always set out to deliver a premier experience to every athlete and family who interacts with our platform, and we know this partnership will allow us to do so in the years ahead.”

HoganLax was created in 2002 when Matt Hogan was the head lacrosse coach at the University of Pennsylvania. HoganLax now runs some of the top national lacrosse events, including the Naptown National Challenge, which is broadcast live on ESPN3. HoganLax’s club lacrosse organization is the Annapolis Hawks, which started in 2004 with two teams. The club has since grown to more than 13 teams from grades 2-12 and has become one of the top clubs in the nation.

3STEP CEO Geaslen doesn’t think 3STEP is slowing down anytime soon. “This is just the beginning,” he said. “These established brands are an incredible addition to our lacrosse team, and we look forward to adding more strategic partnerships in the months ahead.”
