Job Description
NXT Sports (Parent Company, 3 STEP Sports) is seeking interns for Summer 2023.
The NXT EVENTS DIVISION is hiring 3 different internship positions this year. All Event Management Internships will allow interns to play a vital role in the planning, organizing, managing, and executing phase of our local and national summer lacrosse tournaments. Specific responsibilities will focus on one of three areas (listed below) however, cross over between the duties will likely happen, and interested candidates should be comfortable and capable in all three areas.
Data Intern
External Intern (packing and equipment)
Internal Intern (planning and communication)
Data Intern

This internship allows interns to play a vital role in organizing player data and producing professional roster books for college coaches who attend our recruiting tournaments. They will assist one of our Operations Managers as well as our Data Co-op with other tasks related to the roster books and player data. Data interns may also assist the event sales division by organizing data related to sales prospects. Interns will act as assistants to help manage on-site tournament operations on the weekends.

External Intern (Packing and Equipment) 

This internship allows interns to play a vital role in our equipment related operations. The external internship has a heavy emphasis on equipment inventory, packing, setting up and breaking down. Interns will act as assistants to help manage on-site tournament operations on the weekends.

Internal Intern (Planning and Communication)

This internship allows interns to play a vital role in pre-event communications. The internal internship has a heavy emphasis on communicating with tournament staff, vendors, third parties, as well as assisting with meal orders and travel arrangements. Interns will act as assistants to help manage on-site tournament operations on the weekends.

All available internship opportunities can be full time or part time positions running from October to the end of November.

Qualifications 

Preferred candidates are current college students or recent graduates with a strong background in sports management, event planning or coaching.  Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with a strong work ethic, a desire to succeed and a passion for sports.  Applicants must have lodging in the Philadelphia area with access to transportation.  Lacrosse experience is not necessary but highly valued. Some duties are physically demanding and applicants must be able to lift heavy equipment (50 lbs or more). Have to be able to stand on your feet for 8+ hours at a time. Applicants must be willing to work nights and weekends.

Compensation/Hours

Hourly wage depends upon experience (plus overtime)

Monday-Thursday: Office hours approx. 9AM-5PM (Hours vary depending on needs and student schedules)

Friday-Sunday: On-site at tournaments
