New Business Development – Institutional Apparel

3STEP Sports/Champions Choice Apparel, LLC is looking for a New Business Development – Institutional Apparel manager for the Institutional (college, high school) business channel.  This is a hunter business development role.  3STEP Sports is the largest youth sport event and club operator in the nation, providing brands with the ability to impact more athletes than ever in a unique and authentic way. The 3STEP reach spans 40+ states and currently serves more than 2.5 million athletes. We deliver a premier, inspiring and authentic experience – dedicated to perfecting every aspect of the athlete journey. Encompassing industry-leading tournaments, nationally recognized club programs, premier media content and more, 3STEP is the standard of the youth sports experience.

This position will work directly with our wholly owned apparel dealer Champions Choice, who is the largest dealer for Adidas Team Sales of College Division I quality uniforms and footwear in the United States.  This is a full-time position located at the company’s headquarters in Wilmington, MA and requires some travel.  This position will be essential in helping our institutional business grow and expand.

Objective of the role:

  • Generate new institutional opportunities via external prospecting
  • Work and network with internal resources to develop external opportunities
  • Achieve assigned goals
  • Identify quality opportunities
  • Understand the decision-making process by institution
  • Ability to present, negotiate, and close long term agreements with new clients
  • Establish cold call, email, and social media, and networking campaigns in conjunction with internal marketing
  • Arrange meetings with senior management when applicable
  • Keep accurate account information in an electronic format
  • Accurately forecast timing of new business
  • Understand and articulate our advantage in the marketplace
  • Have complete understanding of our products & services

Preferred skills & experience:

  • 3-5 Years Business Development experience in the institutional space
  • Goal Oriented, History of Quota Achievement
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Active listener who is solutions oriented
  • Experience in objection handling and deal negotiation
  • Ability to build presentations and present to large audiences
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and externally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point
  • BA/BS Degree
