Select Events Basketball is a girls club basketball event operator based out of Andover, MA in charge of running and managing more than 30 events/tournaments throughout the calendar year.  Select Events is scheduled to run a combination of tournaments, leagues, showcases, and clinics in more than 10+ states spanning multiple regions across the country for the year of 2023.  In addition to running its own premier independent league called the Select 40, Select Events Basketball is also in partnership with multiple exclusive brands, most notably the Girls Under Armour Association club circuit.

Job Description:

The Select Event Assistant Regional Director Co-Op is a 6 month (February 2023 – July 2023) paid position based out of our corporate office in Andover, MA. The Assistant Regional Director Co-Op will work under the guidance of the Regional Director to plan and implement events and tournaments on a week-to-week basis. Previous hires have gone on to get hired as Division I basketball staff members while others have been offered full-time positions with Select Events after the 6-month Co-Op period.

Duties Include:

  • Responsible for maintaining and building strong customer relationships with club programs and directors
  • In charge of registering and collecting payments from our numerous customers on a weekly basis
  • Assist staff with the scheduling/securing of event facilities throughout the year
  • Help organize tournament schedules and team/program accommodations
  • Assist with all daily staff operations and help input all logistical data necessary for pre and post event function
  • Regular weekend travel required while acting as site/facility director at events throughout spring/summer
  • Help manage event venue/facility setup and breakdown each week
  • Assist with the hiring of part-time event staff on a weekly basis while also training event staff workers in various on-site capacities (ticket sales, scorekeeping, site directing, etc.)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Major in Sport Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Desire to be an industry leader in sports management
  • Ability to work in an extremely demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional leadership skills and ability to manage on site staff
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Prior event management experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Able to work extended hours including nights and weekend
  • Willing to travel frequently to various locations within the continental United States
