Position Summary

3STEP Sports is looking to recruit an attorney with mergers and acquisitions and commercial real estate (purchase and sale and leasing) experience.  The successful candidate will work primarily on 3Step’s strategic business acquisitions and will lead our lease negotiations and real estate-related acquisitions.  The attorney will report to and work under the supervision of 3Step’s VP of M&A and will be highly visible to the entire senior leadership team.  3Step’s principal offices are located in a state-of-the-art development in Andover, Massachusetts although the role can be fully, partially or non-remote depending on the successful candidate.

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Membership in good standing of the Massachusetts Bar (or member in good standing of another state bar and eligible for registration as an in-house attorney in Massachusetts)

Requisite Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of legal experience in a mix of mergers and acquisitions, real estate and general corporate matters
  • Strong drafting, negotiating and communications (written and oral) skills required, including the ability to problem-solve and think creatively
  • Solid understanding of structuring M&A and real estate transactions including tax-related issues
  • Ability to understand business needs and partner with internal management, other internal and external team members and third parties
  • Proven ability to work quickly and to provide pragmatic and entrepreneurial advice and solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze and balance commercial imperatives and legal risks to deliver acceptable outcomes
  • Ability to juggle a varied and high-volume workload
  • Ability to set and consistently meet deadlines and closing dates
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team comprised of lawyers and business leadership
  • Ability to manage more junior team members
  • Comfort with delivering effective advice and guidance directly to the C-Suite.
