Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable

3STEP Sports is looking for a Staff Accountant for Accounts Payable to actively support the Accounting Department and the organization as we continue to grow. 3STEP Sports is the largest youth sport event and club operator in the nation, providing brands with the ability to impact more athletes than ever in a unique and authentic way. This role is located in-person at the company’s headquarters in Wilmington, MA.

The Staff Accountant for Accounts Payable will assist in the company’s daily and monthly accounting functions. The role will report directly to the Accounting Operations Manager and will support the 3STEP Accounting function while working as part of the broader team.

Overall, the role will:

  • Enter a high volume of accounts payable invoices and related payments.
  • Retain a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure for accuracy, proper general ledger coding, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage corporate credit card program and review related expense reports, including verification of proper support, workflow approvals and related reconciliations.
  • Maintain vendor master file and new vendor set-up.
  • Respond to a variety of basic inquiries regarding vendor invoices and payments.
  • Coordinate with internal sport operations teams daily.
  • Research, resolve and clear outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Complete other ad hoc requests to assist other accounting team members.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 0-2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and procedures in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving and financial troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, NetSuite and/or other similar systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work hard with a positive attitude.
